I was on that 1320 station again - they just called at like 6:30 this morning. We talked about how safe the march was, and then I went back on just to say "The media says we're for the bill. We are absolutely not!" and then I ranted about how bad the bill is. I also talked about the May 1 action, inviting everyone to boycott. They want me to call again on May 1. Maybe I'll call again to advertise once we get a solid plan.

Anyway, I'm so mad at the media right now, saying we're for this bill. I know we were all very clear about our message. It's extremely counter-productive (and manipulative) when they say the opposite of what we're saying.

Companera Sarah, I understand your frustration. Part of the ‘Lucha’ is the Media War as we wrestle for the hearts, minds and souls of the people in a contest of mortal combat against the ‘shock and awe’ of corporate-controlled mass media.

Actually, the term ‘mass media’ is misleading as the ‘media’ is not controlled by the masses, but it goes out to the masses.

As an American insurgent of the native resistance against Amerikan Occupation, I understand the connected reality of the global power of Mass Media in the new millennium.

Beware! A mature scientific fascism has already taken over inside the United States and it is HERE NOW. Many people have a comic book naïve notion of fascism that harkens back to Nazi Germany and goose-stepping soldiers.
Thanks God, those days are over, Damn the Devil worse days are HERE NOW. Amerikan Fascism is sly, subtle and scientific. Key to fascism staying ‘in power and secure’ is its electric steel grip on mass media, its gateways and its distribution outlets.

I have thought of us protesting and picketing right in front of the Sacramento Bee by 21st Street as it has a big monopoly over the regional news here in Sacramento. Remember its latest expansion and acquisition|?

So we must hang-up our hang-ups, get those evil fascist border patrol guards out of our minds and see mass media, positive propaganda and fresh spin as key components of our general resistance, including local mass literacy and computer literacy in our own local communities.

The Media War bleeds over into our own ranks and there are many mis-communications, failed communications and also no communications amongst us. We cannot work together well if we do not really know each other on a personal-spiritual level.

For example, I cannot post to the HR4437 List though I receive its Messages as the Yahoo Program rejects my posting to the List through Yahoo. I have told Mario about switching my Email Address for this List to my hotmail one: humane-being@hotmail.com but have still had no response, so I can read Messages from the List but cannot post to it. Anyways, Lists are now so last Millennium, though some have not made any smooth transition and still cling to old ways. I will also post this to the Oct29th List. At least I can post there.

Companera Fatima called for a Meeting at the |Zapatista Office IF we can get the conference room, but there have not been timely preparations. Was this Meeting decided upon before yesterday? I guess I am out of the information loop, but I will do what little I can from my Command Post deep in the concrete jungle of Fascist Amerika by Southside Park!

For posted Group Meetings, I think there should be timely preparations, also inviting community people. A Group Meeting should have a set written agenda, submittal of field reports by principle parties and a clearly defined chain of command. Why further convince the convinced? Why preach to the choir? Who is in charge? Who is minding the store? Who are our allies, our opponents and who can we neutralize?

Alas, the typed text cannot easily convey our feelings and the written word cannot replace eye-to-eye conversation or bold aggressive action! Now don’t think I am complaining here as that would be so un-Amerikan. I don‘t want U.S. Homeland Security on my ass, especially if Fuhrer Bush ratings dip lower on that crazy color bar code and is suddenly heightened up to orange or, God Forbid! ~ RED!

To echo: concentration on the coordination of communications is key for success. Remember how the mass media of Spanish-language radios and cell phone text messaging of the youth helped to make the L.A. Grande Marcha a great success! I suspect some of us are not doing our homework!
