yes, that's right, "occupied" meaning by -the people- as a form of non-violent defense against the greedy landowners and lying, hypocritcal politicians who have sent orders to the L.A. Sherriff's Dept. to send bulldozers and remove the hundreds of families dependant on the food from the land.
all so-called legal avenues have been exhausted, and Horowitz has sent the call of L.A. Sherriff's to send bulldozers and remove the people from the land.
but, INSTEAD of welcoming this eviction and destruction of land that clearly represents more than a greedy millionares' heart can fathom,,, hundreds of supporters are stationed inside and out of the farm, with barricades at entrances and supporters at all perimter stations on short wave radio reporting police sightings and/or unusual cars or pedestrians. all of this is common knowledge already to the powers that be with their semi-hourly visits overhead wtih helicopters shining lights on our camps for minutes, or in some cases almost hours at a time taunting or attempting to disturb or keep tabs on the inhabitants. or, wtih their unmarked cars or vans, and police S.U.V.'s cruising up and down our streets all day and night, occassionally parking for hours on end.
news vans from east coast to west are on site from 4a.m. till after midnight.
last night, after 2 alleged federal officers spent time across the street from farm supposedly involved a train, and 2 police vans sat parked for 2 or so hours down street from the farm, a building immediately adjacent to the farm suddenly caught fire at roughly 3 a.m. sending handfuls of firetrucks to clean up the mess. and flames reaching high into the night sky.
sleep was not an easy thing to find last night for many, especially with the last helicopter staying over head for over an hour.
so why bother spreading this news?
because this call for direct action and support is as "IN AFFECT" as it will ever be, right here, right now, we have an opportunity to make a non-violent stand using our bodies, our hearts and our spirits to say--ya basta! not one more broken lie will we accept from you, not one more piece of tierra will we let you steal from us, at least---not this land, and not this time.
so, if you have time on your hands or resources to share, schedule a shift to volunteer at the farm tonight, or tomorrow, and/or bring water bottles, batteries, and/or other vital camping supplies or foods to the front of the farm and offer as donations.
