PLEASE FORWARD
Subcomandante Marcos appeared on a 45 minute
uncut-unedited interview yesterday morning on Televisa
(maybe that;s the Mexican equivalent of FOXnews-CNN?).
The political class has responded with more lies, and
has kept legitimizing the violence against
Atenco-Texcoco, and have made promises of more
violence. The Mexico national media (with the
exception of a few reporters from La Jornada) continue
to legitimize the state violence, either by lies,
distortion or ignorance.
Themes Marcos-La Otra have been stressing:
a-Denouncing state violence and repression and
demanding for the liberation-release of the
dissapeared-arrested, and justice for all those
responsible for the violence
b-Denounce the national media for how they have
depicted the violence in Atenco (presenting the
population as the aggressors) and challenging the
media to tell the truth instead of just legitimizing
state violence, and serving the political class.
c- Accurately naming and recounting the crisis of the
country in the hands of government and massive media
and the political parties and the big empresarios, who
work together accelerating the selling off and
destruction of México for the benefit of transnational
neo-liberal interests.
d- Clearly delegitimizing the PRD among all the
political parties and presidential candidates.
e- Illustrating the massive force from people below
already making another way of doing politics, seen
through the joined struggle of people on all sides
(from below and to the left) who are the movement of
La Otra Campaña in México today.
