The A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition, the National Council of Arab Americans and the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation have jointly initiated a National Emergency March on Washington on Aug 12, with coordinated marches in Los Angeles and San Francisco, in defense of the people of Palestine and Lebanon who are under brutal attack by the U.S.-backed Israeli government. On August 12, thousands will gather across the United States to demand an end to the U.S.-Israeli war on the Middle East.
Israel is bombing crowded neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure in Lebanon, as it destroys homes and kills indiscriminately in its murderous assault on Gaza. More than 400 Lebanese and 130 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli actions so far. Israel's U.S.-backed deliberate attacks on the civilian populations of Lebanon and Gaza, with the intent of causing maximum suffering, are crimes against humanity. What we are witnessing today in Lebanon and Gaza is collective punishment against the whole Lebanese and Palestinian populations.
All progressive, anti-war, Arab American, Muslim, trade union and civil rights organizations should stand with the oppressed peoples of the Middle East and demand an end to the U.S.-Israeli war. Let's work hard to make the Los Angeles demonstration as big and militant as possible!
