Cal. State L.A. is proud to present:
An Evening with Olmeca an Artist in Rebellion!!!
From night clubs and community spaces to living in the jungles of Chiapas, hip hop artist, freedom fighter and Cal. Sate L.A. Alumni, Olmeca will share a special spoken word performance and discussion as he reveals an insight into modern day society, its contradictions and examples of rebellion in the midst of corporate governments.
After one year in Zapatista territory, Olmeca will provide information on the Zapatista initiative called "The Other Campaign" and its relation to our struggles here in L.A. , specifically to independent artist.
Olmeca will also share the music that has taken him throughout the U.S. Canada, Mexico and the rest of Latin America to share the stage with top name artist and in support of global movements of resistance.
From his experiences with transnational corporations, L.A, Mexico City and Chiapas police and politicians to his experiences with autonomous circles, other freedom fighters & homeless intellectuals, Olmeca will expose the many life struggles that fill us with hope...
