February 26th through March 2nd will be a week of protest against the recent ICE raids, against guestworker programs, in support of legalization. Every day, people will gather from 11am to 1pm outside of San Francisco's Homeland Security/ICE Building at 630 Sansome St. Flyers
Immigrant rights organizations and coalitions will respond to, and resist, the recent immigration raids. They will express their opposition to the proposed guestworker program, and they will say, "yes to legalization for all."
Monday's activities will consist of an opening rally with communities of faith. On Tuesday, regional Labor Councils, Labor leaders, and day laborer centers of Northern California will come together to say, "immigrant rights are worker rights!" Wednesday will be family day-- teachers, youth and children will speak out. Thursday will be a protest against the criminalization of immigrants. On Friday, there will be a closing rally, with a march to Congresswoman Pelosi's office. For people who cannot participate during the day, allies are reportedly organizing events every night between 4:00 and 7:00 pm in cities such as Oakland.
