Demonstration of support to Save the Farm from in bound bulldozers this

Friday May 19, 2006, 9:00am at Figueroa St and Pico Blvd
!

200 N. Main Street. Los Angeles.

-Farm Status: Monday May 22, 2006 will be the 30 day mark to end the current contractual agreement between the Trust for Public Land and Ralph Horowitz giving us the time to raise the funds needed to purchase the farm for the community. With 8 days left, it has become our reality that we fallen short of these funds and the eviction is already in place to be activated
should the contract go void. We’d like to thank all of the individuals and supporting organizations that came out last Thursday to be a part of our press conference. We hope we can depend once again on your presence this Friday May 19 at City Hall for what may be our last Demonstration at City Hall.

-If you have never attended one of our demonstrations, if you have never attended one of our vigils, if you have never attended public comments with the farmers, if you have never called the mayor, if you have never emailed or called a city council representative, if you have never told your friends or colleagues about us, if you have never seen the farm…
this is could be, realistically, your last week to do so.

-It honestly depends on you, whether the farm lives or dies. The farmers have been carrying this struggle for three years. Their backs are strong, but so is the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department and the will or lack there of Mayor Villaraigosa.

Schedule of actions for week of May 14-20, 2006

-Though we only listed one evening below, we will be holding a vigil every night at the Mayor’s House. We are asking of our supporting organizations to take a day and organize their members to hold the vigil. Members of the support coalition have held one there the past three nights. Please contact us with the night you’d like to take so we may also announce it. Thank you.
